EARI13-053: Technological innovation of a harvester and a burner used in wild blueberry

Applicant: Services Hall Ltée

Project Lead: Eric Hall

Project Year(s): 2013 -2014      Status: Complete

Funding Source: Canada/New Brunswick Growing Forward 2 (Non-Business Risk Management Programs)

Funding Program: Enabling Agricultural Research and Innovation

Objective: The main objective of the project is to test the performance of the harvester prototype for wild blueberry cultivation during the harvesting period. We want to obtain a harvester that will be faster, more effective, powerful, and less expensive than the harvesters already available on the market. We also plan to automate some functions to make the task easier for the operator, to increase production, and to reduce environmental impact. The main purpose of the burner is to obtain optimal uniformity, ground heat, and speed, as well as a better quality burn compared to other burners on the market, i.e. fuel burners for wild blueberry cultivation.
