Under the Bee Act, any person who owns or is in possession of honey bees or used beekeeping equipment is legally required to have a valid Certificate of Registration. Annual registration takes place from May 15 to June 29 and registration is free.

Any additional colonies acquired throughout the year must be registered within ten days of acquisition.
